Villiersdorp is located in the beautiful Elands Valley, just 25km from Franschhoek over the beautiful Franschhoek pass.
Established in 1843, by Field Coronet Pieter de Villiers, Villiersdorp is a small rural village situated in an extensive fruit and wine farming area and surrounded by mountains. The quiet and laidback environment is one of the town's biggest assets.
Villiersdorp is approximately an hour and a half’s drive from Cape Town, and an hour from the Cape Town International Airport.
De Villiers Country Lodge guest house is situated on the corner of Victoria Street and Union Avenue. This is a wonderful, comfortable and stylish guest house, where guests are treated to genuine rural hospitality.
Johannie is a supreme hostess and along with mouth-watering meals, you get possibly the warmest welcome in the entire Overberg.
Guest accommodation consists of five en-suite double bedrooms, one on the ground floor with wheelchair access. Guests may relax in one of the two lounges with DSTV Select channels, or out on the patio with the sight & sound of the fountain to soothe the soul. All rooms have coffee & tea making facilities and every room has its own unique style.
There is also a cottage on the grounds, which would be perfect for families, or groups of up to 4 people wanting a little privacy. The cottage is also wheelchair friendly.
Breakfast is served in the cosy dining room. Additional meals and local wines are available for dinner by prior arrangement.
Situated right next door to de Villiers Country Lodge is St Augustine's Anglican Church. This was built in 1858 and with its stone walls and thatched roof it’s a perfect venue for smaller weddings. The local Dutch Reformed or NG church is a little further down Victoria Street, making de Villiers Country Lodge an ideal place for wedding guests’ accommodation.
De Villiers Country Lodge also offers facilities for small functions, e.g. Courses, business meetings, birthdays etc. We will also do the catering for the function.
